Village School PTO

Everyday I’m presenting I get rush from audiences, and also realizing that this is what I get to do every day. I still don’t believe it. That being said, this week was particularly special, as I was able to return to where it ALL started for me, Marblehead, MA. Being greeted by old teachers, mentors, and even kids I used to babysit that are now in high school 🤦🏼‍♀️was a feeling like no other. It’s community. It’s support. It’s friendships. It’s trust. It’s hard work for these schools to coordinate schedules, funds and the fact they do it every year is such an incredible honor and privilege. I was fortunate enough to spend 3, busy days talking to students and parents and aside from my gratefulness, here was a major takeaway from the kids (4th – 12th graders): They’re watching US. They’re listening to our rules, but also watching us break them. While I’m not suggesting rules must be the same for parents and kids, we must be the role models. As a parent, I struggle daily to be mindful of how I don’t let my kids use devices – yet I’m always on mine. If we want to help our kids have a healthy relationship with technology, it starts with us. #parenting #healthytech #techforgood
Shout out to Marblehead admins, staff, and PTOs – you guys are some of the VERY best in the business. 💖🧙🏽‍♂️#magicians
