MRIs show screen time linked to lower brain development in Preschoolers

In one of the first of its kind, researchers have examined the effect screen time has on preschool-aged children, with some notable results. It's interesting to note how we're all just learning as we go along here, and just a year ago the American Association of Pediatrics had a recommended screen time amount for toddlers - which they've recently revised to say that kids under 18 months shouldn't have screen media time at all (except for video calls with family). The matter in kids' brains showed notable differences, although doctors are cautious to say that screen time CAUSES damage in the brain of these young kids; rather, maybe screen time is depriving our kids of time spent reading, singing songs, or playing outside. It's interesting to follow these studies as they come out, and hopefully help us to try as hard as possible to be more thoughtful as we use technology, along with how our littlest ones use it. Great read, thanks KPC. #parenting #screentime
